CHICAGO — ORBA, one of Chicago ’s largest independent accounting, tax and consulting firms, is pleased to announce that Stephanie Zaleski-Braatz, CPA has been named to the Illinois CPA Society’s (ICPAS) Board of Directors. She will serve in this role for a three-year term through March 2027.
Stephanie has previously served ICPAS’s Young Leaders Advisory Council as Chair (2022-2024), Vice Chair (2020-2022) and Member (2018-2020), before which she was ORBA’s firm ambassador to the organization and helped plan two of ICPAS’ conferences as a member of their Employee Benefits Conference task force in 2016 and 2017.
“Having served as Chair of ICPAS’ Young Leaders Advisory Council helped me further understand the Society’s mission and the impact it has on young accounting and finance professionals,” Stephanie said. “As a newly elected Board Member, I am excited to work closely with a diverse group of leaders throughout the profession and continue to help promote membership and involvement in the Society.”
Stephanie will be responsible for representing the interests of the Society’s members, chapters, committees, task forces and professional staff through active participation at Board meetings, assigned committee work and participation in member/leader events.
Stephanie has been with ORBA since 2012, beginning her career with the firm as a tax season intern. She has experience in both for-profit and not-for-profit industries. Her not-for-profit experience includes schools, museums and other charitable organizations. She also specializes in audits of employee benefit plans for both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. Stephanie co-chairs ORBA’s Community Outreach Committee and is involved in recruiting new hires from various colleges and universities.
